Description

This training focuses on how to incorporate classroom practices to reduce challenging behavior in early childhood classrooms. It will introduce strategies for classroom staff to develop sound, universal practices for engagement and trauma-informed prevention, instruction, and reinforcement based on Prevent, Teach, Reinforce for Young Children (second edition) by Dunlap, Wilson, Strain, and Lee. Topics will include: Behavior Basics, 5:1 Ratio of Positive Attention, Using Predictable Schedules, Establishing Routines Within Routines, Directly Teach Behavioral Expectations, and Directly Teach Peer Related Social Skills.
